Choosing Which Horoscope Is For You

Although many people read horoscopes for fun, there are those who take them a little more seriously. Keep in mind that a horoscope is not a blueprint for your future – it's more like a road map. It can predict the future – only if you continue along your present path. It is up to you to act on the advice given – or not. Although the planets do exert a big influence on how we all behave, the biggest influence on your own behavior is your own will. Horoscopes can help you make choices.

But there are literally thousands of horoscopes in print and online. Sometimes, they give conflicting advice for the same days. This is because astrology is not an exact science and is given to some personal interpretation by the astrologer. Also, most horoscopes have very little room to do any explaining, so what may be important to the astrologer may not be that important to you.

There is an easy and fun way to pick which horoscope is for you. For a week, make a small note of what happened to you that day. Then, at the end of the week, go back to the periodical or online horoscope and compare the two. How close are they? If the horoscope was nowhere near close, then you can skip it and move on. The horoscope that was able to predict what happened during your week is your horoscope.

There is also the viewpoint that whatever horoscope that you come across that day is the particular horoscope you were meant to see, no matter who wrote it. Anything you read may exert an influence on your subconscious, no matter how slight.

It is said that over the door to the oracle at Delphi were the words "Know thyself." Horoscopes can help you know yourself a little better.
